I am a developer who has created an Eclipse RCP application. Our clients have been having problems opening SWT dialogs after installing the AVG Antivirus 2012. Our support team has noticed one common denominator on the client's PC. It is the AVG Antivirus 2012. In an effort to solve the problem the support staff has had them try removing AVG and at this point it seems to have solved the problem. This is less than ideal as we do not want the following:
1. Client's having to call our support staff to guide them through the un-install process.
2. Client's PC having to be less secure due to the fact that they cannot use the AVG product.
The SWT version is 3.4.0.v3448f and JFace version 3.4.0.I20080606-1300.

Do you have any suggestions or is there a possibility a future patch could be release to deal with this issue?
Today, we have released a new program update of AVG (build number 2012.1831). This update should hopefully fix the problems with Identity Protection component that were reported in this thread. I would like to ask you to re-test your applications if possible with the new update. Thank you again for your patience and co-operation.
I had a similar issue, I cannot present the debug information from eclipse, but I can tell you that I initially tried disabling Identity protection and it did not help, but when I disabled the link scanner and email scanner, eclipse updates started working again immediately. I then re-enabled the link and email scanner and eclipse updates stopped working again.
The zip of my log files is 14mb and my zip program cannot split the file, so I uploaded them to my own host.
Here is a link for download, I will leave it there for 1 month. Please contact me if this file is needed after that month, or if someone could download and re-zip this and post it on the forums it would be greatly appreciated.
Issue described originally in this thread appears to be different (this was Identity Protection crash which is already fixed).
Could you please provide us with detailed description of your issue? Do you have problems with updating Eclipse itself, Eclipse toolkits or with some application which you develop?
If it is about the application, would it be possible to provide us with it for testing purposes?
Please try to disable components one by one, is the issue resolved with only LinkScanner or only E-mail scanner disabled or do you have to disable both?
