We use a programme called Vbase to upload volunteer vacancies to the national volunteering website www.do-it.org.uk in the UK. The upload tool works when the Firewall is turned off and when the firewall profile is set to "allow all". The profile is normally set to computer within a domain. After some research i believe it is to do with upload programme wanting access to FTP site.
I am running winXP SP3 with IE8, this is a problem on all winXp with IE8 computers that run vbase. We have one computer that runs windows 7 with vbase installed and the put online wizard "works" on that machine. I can't see any difference in avg setup between Windows XP & Windows 7.

The firewall is detecting the communication as coming from "C:\Windows\system32\Svchost.exe", it can see no reason to allow the communication so it is blocking it.
To resolve this please follow these steps:
1. Open AVG and navigate to "tools">"Firewall Settings", Under your usual profile, click on "defined networks", if you can't see this click on the + sign to the right of the profile name. In the list scroll down to "IP addresses whitelist". Double-click on this and add the address: 220.127.116.11 and apply this setting.
You should now be able to upload using the Vbase application without disabling the firewall.
