Sometimes the Windows repository may contain obsolete information. This can lead to issues while installing AVG (for example when another security product is detected to be present, but already is removed). This can also cause the Windows Action Center (Windows Security Center) to report AVG as inactive while in reality all AVG components are active. You can fix this issue by deleting the repository content and restarting the computer.
A) You can delete the repository by using our delrep utility as described in this FAQ article. Please make sure to run the tool with administrative rights.
B) If you would like to perform the procedure manually, you can proceed as follows:
1. Open the command line.
2. Type the following sequence of commands:
net stop winmgmt Confirm stopping the service if prompted. cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem
net start winmgmt
