How to provide us with the AVG update log file(s):
The forum moderators may request the AVG update log file in the case of some AVG update issues. The cause may range from simple connectivity problems to complicated infections. This log file will help us pinpoint the cause of the issue or narrow the options.
First, make sure that your operating system is configured to display hidden files and folders.
AVG 2013
1. Navigate to the AVG log folder:
Windows XP/Vista/7 32bit
C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\Avg2013\log\
C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Avg2013\log\
Windows Vista/7 64bit
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Avg2013\log\
2. Locate the avgupd.log and avgupdm.log files, compress them, and then attach the created archive to your next post.
AVG 2012
1. Navigate to the AVG log folder:
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVG2012\Log\
Windows Vista/7
C:\ProgramData\AVG2012\Log\

AVG 2011

AVG 9.0
1. Navigate to the AVG log folder:
Windows 2000/XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVG9\Log\
Windows Vista/7
C:\ProgramData\AVG9\Log\
2. Locate the avgupd.log file, compress it, and then attach it to your next post.
More information about attaching files to posts can be found in this How-to document.
