Is there a way to switch out the 30 day free trial for a free license without uninstall / reinstall?

To my knowledge I think you'll have to uninstall the AVG trial version.... The forum is only for AVG Free Edition... the help is only from other AVG Free users. Any questions concerning the Pro either Trial or Paid for version must be directed at AVG's Tech or Sales support on the main website http://www.avg.com/support-existing.

I'm looking to do the same thing, stnssn. I'm thinking that when I d/l the free version 9.0 it asked me if I wanted to try the pro for 30 days, I let it, because it said I could "always go back to the free version". I could be wrong on that, tho, sorry. Either way, it definitely implied it was an easy switch back, which was the ONLY reason I installed it, but I'm not seeing anything at all that shows how to revert, other than a complete reinstall. That's doable, of course, but it's just something of a PITA, especially since they told me I could do it "easily".

If you find the way, would you please post it here?

Thanks!

Hi,

the reinstallation is the only known possible way how to downgrade AVG Trial (Pro) to AVG Free.

Could you please provide me with some link (screenshot) where is said, it could be done easily to fix it?

As the AVG download manager does not have this information (viz attached screenshot).

Thanks

Uninstall From The Control Panel To Downgrade..

Start Uninstalling AVG 30 days free trial. A dialog comes asking if you really want to uninstall AVG or downgrade to AVG Free. As simple as that

Hi all,

I will just add that complete uninstallation of the trial version and a new installation of AVG Free is recommended if you would encounter some issues during the process, or after downgrading.

There could be a glitch caused by some AVG Trial leftovers while the AVG Free is installed. This is uncommon, but I think it should be mentioned on a support forum.

You can follow AVG 8.x+9.x Uninstall / Re-Install Instructions if you would like to make sure there are no remnants of the trial version left on your computer.

Thanks.
