I recently realised that a large amount of space on my hard drive was being used by AVG Dump files !!
I always wondered why my free space was disappearing.

They are created every so often for whatever reason.
They started being created in Feb 2010 and then at various times afterwards, separated by days/weeks/months. The last was created 24/3/12.

The large _F.dmp files vary in size between 30-50+MB, the largest was 190+MB !!

I have included screen shots of the directories which show the dump file details.

I moved 1.45GB of files to another partition and 1.12GB of files remain on C drive.

1) Why are they being created ??

2) Can I stop them being created as they are using up so much space ??

3) Can I delete these files ??

Thanks

Ok, but it may take a while for problem to reoccur and dump to be created.

Some new dumps have finally been created.

Program Update is scheduled at Midnight (00:00 hours)
Virus Database update is scheduled at 1am (01:00 hours)

The dumps seem to be created when it tries to do Virus Database update.

How do I upload them ?
