Hi i run a Server 2008 std machine, in the event log under 7011 service control manager , i get the error

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the avgwd service

this happens about 60 times per day it happens at random times.

my avg version details are below

AVG file server edition 2012.0.1913
database version 2114/4854

Please can someone help me !

Hi nowva,

Have you noticed any other issues with AVG other than the events appearing in event logs?

We would like to ask for the following files so we can analyse this issue:

Please download and run the AVG diagnostic tool from this link - http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/support/runner_en.exe

- Export the system and application event logs
- Export the system information in '.nfo' format
- Run the diagnostic tool and attach the event logs\msinfo32 output

If you send the files using your login address we can find them in our support system. Please let us know when they have been sent.

Hi Nowva,

Thanks for the logs. While we are going through them, is it possible for you to perform this test? Please disconnect any removable hard drives from the Server for a few hours to see if the events stop appearing and let us know the outcome.

Removed the ext hard drive, but still the same.

Hi nowva,

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately we cannot determine the cause of the issue from the log files. We would like to request some debug logs from the Server as follows:

- Navigate to C:\ProgramData\AVG2012\log
- Rename the existing 'wdlog.cfg' and 'chjwlog.cfg' files to '.old'
- Copy across the debug versions attached to this post in the 'debug.zip' file

Unfortunately this will require a reboot of the Server, so we apologise for the inconvenience this will cause. Wait for the error to appear a few more times in event logs.

- Export the system\application event logs again and attach to the AVG diagnostic utility as done previously.

Let us know again when the files have been sent.
