How to reset the Internet browser proxy configuration:
Malware sometimes changes the proxy server configuration to allow it to redirect your browsing requests. After the malware is removed, the proxy server configuration is not reverted and needs to be reviewed. Usually, no proxy server is used. Please consult your ISP or network administrator if you are unsure.
Here you can find short guides on how to change browser's proxy server configuration. If more browsers are used, be sure to check the proxy server configuration for all of them.
Internet Explorer and Chrome (system proxy)
1. Press
Windows logo +
R
2. Type
inetcpl.cpl into the opened window.
3. Click the
Connections tab.
4. Click
LAN settings.
5. Clear the
Use a proxy server for your LAN option if you do not use a proxy server or make any needed changes.
6. Click
OK to save any configuration changes.
7. Click
OK to close the
Internet properties window.
Mozilla Firefox
1. Open the Firefox browser and click the
Firefox menu in the upper-left corner.
2. Select
Options ->
Options.
3. Click the
Advanced icon in the upper-right corner.
4. Click the
Network tab.
5. Click
Settings.
6. Select the
No proxy option if you do not use a proxy server or make any needed changes.
7. Click
OK to save any changes.
8. Click
OK to close the
Options window.
Opera
1. Open the Opera browser.
2. Press
CTRL +
F12.
3. Click the
Advanced tab.
4. Select the
Network item in the left list.
5. Click the
Proxy Servers... button.
6. Make sure all options are cleared if you do not use a proxy server or make any needed changes.
7. Click
OK to save any changes.
8. Click
OK to close the
Preferences window.
