I note from this link that there are two versions of the latest AVG version

Which do I install the 32 bit or the 64 bit.
I am running Windows XP SP3 and have AVG 9 installed.

Thanks, but done that, and still can't find this information:-
. CPU clock and type:
- This information can be found in the same window as described above.
- The window contains other useful information like system architecture (32 or 64 bit) and the exact operating system version (Windows 7 on the attached screenshot).

Any ideas where I should be looking?

If you are not sure whether your system is 32 bit or 64 bit, please proceed as follows:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type msinfo32 and click OK.
- You will see the System Type item on the right side of the opened window (it may be needed to wait for a while).
- If it is "X86 based", then your system is 32 bit. Otherwise it is 64 bit.

Thanks, got it now it's a 32 bit, but I now notice from this Download site :-

That there is no mention of 32 bit or 64 bit, does it sort out the version required automatically?

1st Item.... This is the online installer for AVG 2011. (For both 32 & 64bit)
2nd Item.... Offline installer for 32bit systems.
3rd Item.... Offline installer for 64bit systems.

Whichever method that you choose to install AVG you should be saving the install file to your system. Have a look @ FAQ #2962 http://free.avg.com/ww-en/faq.num-2962#num-2962.

The other download website you've mentioned links to the Cnet equivalent of the AVG online installer covering both 32 & 64bit. With this installation you have to be connected to the internet.
