AVG Free 8.5.374
DB 270.12.85/2193
Windows XP SP3
I am getting a virus "Dropper.Generic.AQXM" detected in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin\MSDEV.exe. The file is shown as last modified 17 June 1998. I can find no information about this virus in the AVG virus encyclopedia or on the web. I am suspicious that this is a false positive as it seems strange that a virus should target this pretty rare exe now. Is there anyway I can confirm if this is a real virus?

i just got the same alert!! and avg has deliberatly erased dfdev.exe!!! my fortran projects are not working any more!!
i saw the file is in the vault, but is it safe to restore it? can a virus affect an .exe file without affecting the "last modified" date? it is still 17 june 1998!!!
