I have just tried to open Quick Books (of which I use for my business) and the Resident Shield has indicated I have this virus. I did a scan and following is what came up. None of these were healed or removed.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010\QBDBMgrN.exe";"Trojan horse Generic17.BGBU";"Infected"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010\QBDBMgr.exe";"Trojan horse Generic17.BGBU";"Infected"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010\Components\PConfig\Data1.cab:\qbdbmgrn.exe";"Trojan horse Generic17.BGBU";"Infected"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010\Components\PConfig\Data1.cab:\qbdbmgr.exe";"Trojan horse Generic17.BGBU";"Infected"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010\Components\PConfig\Data1.cab";"Trojan horse Generic17.BGBU";"Infected"

What I need to know is how to deal with this. I tried to remove all unhealed infections and of course I got a warning that my system might crash. Then it asked me if I wanted to remove threat as a power user, not sure.... Then it says item is bigger than the archive size limit and do I really want to delete.

Can I remove these safely or will my program quit working. I can reinstall if necessary. PLEASE please help!

Hi,
I just tried opening my 2009 Quickbook files and got similar message. The following files were infected (or identified as being infected):

C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2009\QBDBMgrN.exe
C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2009\QBDBMgr.exe
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{54378EF1-13D6-4C5D-A549-A82041E1D97B}\RP136\A0020027.exe
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{54378EF1-13D6-4CSD-A549-A82041E1D97B}\RP136\A0020026.exe

These files were removed by the scan, but now I can't access them. Can I import the data files from my back-up disk? Or is the program infected?

Is the Trojan Horse now completely removed?

I would appreciate any and all help!

I just ran a scan with AVG and got notice of 4 quickbooks files being infected with the trojan too. Is this a false alert?

I am an AVG Commercial user,

I received this same threat detection with QuickBooks 2009.

What is the problem?

If I hear anything from tech support I will update.

Thank you.

Quote "What is the problem?".... The AVG Free users have just been directed towards the correct procedure to be adopted to deal with a suspected false positive.

The forum is only for AVG Free Edition... the help is only from other AVG Free users (and AVG staff sometimes). Any questions concerning the Pro either Trial or Paid for version should be directed at AVG's Tech or Sales support, who have enough tools to help you with this situation, on the main website http://www.avg.com/ww-en/support-existing.

We have quickbooks 2009 and AVG resident sheild just moved the QBDBMgr.exe into the virus vault and found it as the Generic17.BGBU . Now QB won't run at all. AVG has no info regarding this on their site. Is this a real virus?

I'm running AVG Internet Security Network Edition v9

Sorry..

Sorry, I found this by searching google and it says "AVG official forums" so I assumed actual AVG tech staff would be here to help. I will try AVG's actual website I guess....
