Whenever I attempt to install my purchased version of AVG PC TuneUp 2014, I receive the following error:

"Error writing to file: C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp\AppInitialization.bpl. Verify that you have access to that directory."

The directory exists but is empty.

I have already tried your AVG Removal Tool as suggested in other forums.

I have already tried your online tech support with giving remote access of my system, only to have him say he'd send an email to resolve the issue. The email only explained the installation process and says/does nothing to resolve this error.

Please help.

OK, Just to keep you fully in the picture regarding AVG Team forum support.. For your further guidance/info please refer to the availability Announcement post @ the top of the Information forum area. Please bear in mind that it's also now the weekend [9:56pm Saturday evening] in Brno, Czech Rep.. & also that there might presently be just a slight delay regarding any reply due to a current forum postings backlog.

Hello cjgarbo,

For help on your situation please run command line write:
CACLS "C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp" /G Everyone:F /T
after pressing enter confirm dialog by pressing Y.

Then try installing AVG PC Tuneup again.

Thank you

It says "Access is denied" just before the DOS window closes.

I should have added that I did try to install it immediately following the command line tip and received the same error.

I resolved the error myself.

I selected custom install and, instead of installing the program at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp

I removed 'AVG' and installed it at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG PC TuneUp (without the AVG folder)

It seems to be working fine now.

Hello cjgarbo,

We are happy to see that your issue is resolved.
If you had access denied you were not executing it as Administrator.

Thank you for posting solution back.
