We have AVG free v. 2014.0.4117. Database v. 3604/6702. We're using Online Armor firewall and had been running Avast antivirus (uninstalled). We connect by dsl (verizon).

Whenever I try to run the update it says "update failed" and "general error". We have WindowsXP Pro.

I've attached the avgupdm.log file. The avgupd.log file was empty so I didn't include it.

I uninstalled avira antivirus using the windows "add/remove programs". AVG worked ok for maybe 2 weeks before we started having problems.

I've attached the msinfo file. I haven't tried using the avast remover program.

I am now getting a message: "There are no active components" in the AVG main window. When I try to update I get "An error occurred when saving the configuration: Connection is offline."

Thanks.

Hello ciszy,

For help on your issue please try uninstall Online Armor firewall and SUPERAntiSpyware.

Thank you
