Hi,

After an HD crash I had to re-install AVG 2014 on Windows 7.

Since that moment I have weird messages on half my screen when a program accesses an email or news provider. Difficult to explain, see hopefully attached screenshot.

I tried the repair option and re-re-installation with using the AVG remover without any effect.

Please advise.

OK, It's perhaps relating to your email scanning.. Have a look @ this link #227499. Also have a look @ this link #231534.

Yep, that's my problem. Now a solution. Link 1 concludes: "You have corrupted Html rendering". Which is probably right but not a solution.
Link 2 concludes: "please untick "E-mail Scanner Notification". Well yes, that seems to work but is at best only a temporary workaround.

My current guess is that either during installation or running AVG Tune-Up a windows setting(s) got changed. The question now is: which?

OK, PC Tuneup???.. For help on your issue you could try to revert changes made by PC Tuneup.

Which you may assume I did...

So, this is the extend to which AVG supports its paying customers?
(I do not "chat" and live is too short to try to phone -expensive!- abroad).

Time to switch. Thank you for nothing.

Hi jdijk,

I'd recommend you to reinstall Internet Explorer which should fix this situation.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks.
