Yep, that's my problem. Now a solution. Link 1 concludes: "You have corrupted Html rendering". Which is probably right but not a solution.
Link 2 concludes: "please untick "E-mail Scanner Notification". Well yes, that seems to work but is at best only a temporary workaround.
My current guess is that either during installation or running AVG Tune-Up a windows setting(s) got changed. The question now is: which?
