Hello All!

Recently updated from AVG 2012 paid version to the AVG 2013 paid version. Not long after that I had issues with my laptop randomly shutting down/going to sleep and tried a system restore to go back before the update (although found out the sleep issue was probably unrelated to that and that issue has since been resolved, was a known issue with my particular laptop, having to do with the eco settings).

I then noticed I would get an error at start up...

"avgui.exe - System Error

The program can't start because mfc100u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

It also was showing in my Action Center that I had no firewall, virus protection, or spyware protection. I did do the uninstall/reinstall of AVG 2013, and now the Action Center shows that the AVG firewall, virus protection, and spyware protection are on, but I still get the above message. If I try to click on the desktop icon, I also get the same message, or from the menu button as well.

Incidentally I've noticed that I can't play sound on You Tube videos, whether on the site itself or embedded, (but any other site I can play the sound, e.g. Hulu), and think it may be related to my security settings, but because I can't access my AVG settings, I can't tweak those.

Using Windows 7, paid AVG 2013, no other security programs (other than those included with Windows)

Any ideas appreciated! Hopefully I have attached the correct files.

Thanks!

Still missing mfc100u.dll..

I tried that and for both versions (the 32 bit and the 64 bit) I get a message

"Please resolve the following:

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine."

Tried the uninstall/reinstall..

I tried the uninstall/removal, and reinstalled, yet still get the same error message and cannot open AVG 2013 via the desktop icon or the Start button, and get the missing .dll message. The Action Center says that the AVG 2013 virus and spyware protection are on and up to date, but the Windows Firewall is active. If I turn off the Windows Firewall, and attempt to turn on the AVG firewall, and trust it, I get missing .dll message.

I attached my MSInfo file.

Hello KTSRN,

For help on your issue please try completely uninstalling AVG using AVG remover (from previously linked article).
Then please try install AVG using this tool.
