I'm Running Windows XP Pro on what was a very healthy machine. Downloaded the 1 day trial of PC Tuneup, and ran the 1 click fix everything. I clicked the box to restart when finished, and went about my business elsewhere. I came back some time later to find my computer screen with a message telling me "disk read error has occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart. Not a good message. So when I press ctrl+alt+del the splash screen does it's thing, then comes back to the same message. I also cannot boot to "safe mode" using the F8 key, same message. Looks like something was damaged in the boot portion of my system. Where do I go from here to try to get my system booted so I can recover valuable information on my hard drive?

This issue might be caused by a hardware malfunction. Please Perform A Memory Test (Memtest) and Run A Hard Drive Check.
