I was sent an AVG Email invitation this week to try this program for free. On downloading and installing it, it analysed and found numerous "problems" on my machine.
It is not possible to actually "cure" any such matters, since the program then insistently offers to sell you the program that WILL fix them, each time it runs. There is no control over when it runs, in my case every boot-up or restart.
It is a waste of my time and disk space to be offered, download, install, then find it doesn't do what was offered "for free" even once as a trial.
It is invasive to the AVG customer and an abuse of our  security devices. AVG should be ashamed of these sales tactics, and made to publicly apologise.
