Recently, AVG had begun flagging Adminpak.msi, specifically cmbins.exe as a threat, with no other explanation as to why. I have removed the existing adminpak.msi and replaced it with a fresh extract and the next scan flagged it the same way.

Any reason why this just started happening in the past month?

Hi DarNamell,

It sounds like a false detection. Please can we get the files for analysis. Add them both to a zip file and attach to your next post. If the attachment is over 10mb, upload them to our FTP Server - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-2142#num-2142 - use your login address as the filename so we know which one it is.

We will get the files off to the virus lab.

Thanks,

Michael Allen

Hi DarNamell,

Thanks for the file. We could not induce the detection on the latest virus definitions - 2639/6072

False detection should already be fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Let us know if the file is still being detected for you.

Thanks,

Michael Allen

Thank you. I can confirm this. I merely wanted to be sure and was curious why it so suddenly reported as an aberrant file while at that particular patch level.
