Question - we have about 15 to 17 PC's here in the office and only a couple of them are running XP. Does this apply to AVG Internet Security Business Edition 2011? Only the XP computers have gotten any errors and I didn't want to uninstall if it wasn't absolutely necessary.

Hi JCHPNC,

The issue in ArthurHC's post looks like a crash with the AVG Toolbar driver during or after upgrade to 2013.

This will not affect AVG Internet Security 2011 or any of the Business products as the toolbar is not installed by default.

Hope that answers the question.

Thanks,

Michael Allen

Is there a way to stop the driver error from showing when you start up? Can those having the errors, just remove the toolbar?

Also, when the license is renewed, does the program automatically update, or do I have to push for the program to update through the AVG Console? When it then change the edition from 2011 to the most current edition?

Hi JCHPNC,

If the computer is blue screening with that error message, the best thing to do would be to boot into Safe Mode - http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=85145

- Rename 'C:\Windows\system32\drivers\avgtpx86.sys' to 'avgtpx86.old'
- Restart the machine and it will boot into normal Windows.

The toolbar can be installed with the Business products but is not by default. My own personal advice it to not install it in the Business environment.

When the licence is renewed it is reactivated in the Admin Console and Admin Server and the new licence is synchronised to the workstations. Any upgrades are not automatic.

If the network is on AVG 2011, you can either upgrade to 2012 or 2013. To upgrade the Admin Console - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-5306

To push out the installation - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-4696
The toolbar will not be selected by default during the network install, it will be removed during the upgrade.

Any questions, let us know.

Thanks,

Michael Allen
