You shouldn't make your customers have to look up or call support and manually write in a work around

Hello guimond,

Unfortunately issue is in Guild Wars 2 it tries to open a connection to an address marked as IPv4, however the length of the address is set to length of an IPv6 address.

Thank you

The IP address length mismatch cannot be fixed in the firewall without weakening security so we decided to ask the game developer to fix the issue in their program. The game developer was informed about the issue in September 2012, we have not received any response yet. We are very sorry for the inconvenience it might caused, we have contacted them again.

not good..

This is what is being said all over the gaming world about this subject...

David C Use Avast.
Not sure why ANet should be devoting resources to working around a problem in a 3rd party program.

David GYou really think they shouldnt work with other companies to fix problems? LOL!

Nicholas H don't use avg, they are not a very good company. I wouldn't recommend using anything other than Microsoft security essentials. 3rd party firewall and virus scanners use alot more resources. Are know for hostile take overs of pc's for no reason. They also don't mesh well with the system since they are not as deep as MSE. I fix pc's for a living I see pc's brought in all the time from issues just dealing with the 3rd party software. Take it or leave it, But I can Play GW2 just fine

David C I'm not saying that they shouldn't work with AVG, but the fact that GW2 works fine with every other firewall on the market (afaik), so it's clearly an AVG issue.
As I said before: use Avast. As a former AVG user, Avast works as well or better -- and it lets you play GW2.

Bob R I think that since alot of (all) other firewalls pass GW2 with no problems it is in AVGs court to fix their firewall.

Looks like no one really cares about this. So I am going to take the advice of others and drop AVG from my business and home once my subs run out.
