Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could help me I have a Dell Dimension 9200 with Windows 7 running on AVG 2013. Every time There is a new program update it causes the computer to lock up. The only way I can resolve this issue is to hard restart the computer, Boot into safe mode, uninstall AVG 2013, restart into normal mode, Install AVG 2013 again and then update to the latest program version. Can anybody Help??

Windows version Windows 7
AVG version & virus db version 2013.0.2805 & 2637/6003
Other antivirus software installed / previously uninstalled No
Other protection software installed malwarebytes and Spybot 2.0 (Problem occurred before both programs where installed)

Files..

Hi will h

Thank you for the reply. I was able to get the MSinfo output files via the AVG program (please find attached)

For the AVG log files I was unable to use the program because AVG logs, configuration and dump files tick box was greyed out.

Also I was unable to find the file:

C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Avg2013\

Please find a link below to the AVG Log File which is stored on Dropbox:

Thanks

Hello jonny109,

For help on your issue please try disabling AVG Self protection (AVG program -> F8 -> AVG Self protection -> Untick Enable AVG Self protection option -> Save new settings.)

Thank you

Hi Pokornyz,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have disabled what you recommended. I will wait and see if this makes any difference when the next program update comes along.

Thanks
