AVG BE 2011 License Component Text Field Is Read Only..
I've recently renewed/upgraded my AVG Business 2011 license. Although I was able to update the license number in the admin console, I need to update the license number on some of the client machines as well. When I go to the license component the text field is read only and won't let me change it. I've seen that you offered a utility to update the license number which requires a simple batch file edit to put in the new license number. Can you make that tool available to me please?

Optic wrote Hi PCC62704,
There are a few options. You can either just download the latest installation file and run it on each machine to upgrade the existing AVG 9.0 installation (Enter the new licence number during install) - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/download.prd-ise
If you already have the 2012 Admin Console installed:
- Tools > Run AVG Network Installer Wizard
You can either generate a script a here so you can install via Group Policy or just run the script manually on each machine. Or you can use the network installer wizard to push the installation out. Network requirements can be found here - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-4560

Thank you
It appears the install file link is to upgrade to 2012, which is maybe your intent - and that's cool if that's my only option. The license I recevied is for AVG9 ...I had to ask for ver9 license specifically after I was sent licensing for 2012 in order to keep the update time to a minimum. As a volunteer, we have very limited time to spend on full changeover to ver 12 from AVG9, and the current console is not acting correctly (will not find database - sometimes, won't open - somtimes - hangs a lot) ... so I was hoping for a small exe of some sort to force the license on the existing ver9 clients to buy me some time before I can do a full network upgrade to 12. If I upgrade to 12, and don't also address the console issue at the time, the ver 12 I expect will not have immediately have the managed restrictions in place we currently enjoy ... unfortunately its those restrictions that prevent me from inserting the updated AVG9 key into the AVG9 on the clients directly. My next opportunity to spend real time up there for a full upgrade to 12 is over a weekend in February, but that will mark over two-plus months with no protection. Its paid SMB, but I am the only volunteer at the church that can do this work. Thanks in advance for any additional input. Whatever the outcome, I am very happy that we do receive timely assistance from AVG - its very refreshing. Thank you!

Windows 8?..
I ran the SetLic routine on a couple of machines, worked great, tried it on a Windows 8 machine and got an error. The routine completed successfully, but AVG kicks an error everytime. It kicks the same error, when I try to uninstall....
Thanx..
