uninstalled avast and installed avg 2013 today. avg 2013 doesn't seem to work. I get a you are not fully protected error (computer driver not found, web browsing protected, identity not protected, emails not fully functional. already attempted to fix and repair the install, and got stuck in a restart computer loop. Then i uninstalled avg 2013 with the recommended .exe file, and reinstalled it, but avg still does not work. please advise. In addition, I try to scan, but progress remains at 0%. There is a warning sign (exclamation mark!) on the desktop tray icon.

note: i have Super Antispyware free edition running in background.

Just a point in passing.. Are you sure that you totally uninstalled Avast?.. Have a look @ this Stickie post link Before Installing AVG. Did you download, save & use the Avast uninstall utility?.


Does this feature any real-time residential protection?. You should only have 1 real-time protection on your system i.e. AVG.

i used the avast uninstall software as you noted.

there is no real time protection with super antispyware.

Even I am facing a similar problem on my AVG 2013.
I am getting an error " You are not fully protected !" "Click to fix it"
I tried clicking and fixing, but it didnt help.

Just to inform that I am using AVG since ages, and no other anti virus. But facing such kind of problem for the first time.

Please help with a solution or else I will have to switch to some other Anti-Virus, which I dont want to.

I uninstalled superantispyware, ran the AVG rescue CD, reinstalled AVG2013. still no success. is there a log file or something that I can upload and someone can review? Not sure what to do at this point
