Today I got this "Compatibility update" for Windows Server 2012.

It says: "Improves user experience by warning the end-user and provides more information URL about the product."

In fact it blocks AVG's user interface. So it doesn't "improve" anything, it more or less renders your AVG unusable.

I have AVG File Server Edition 2012.0.2221 and so far it runs pretty nice on WS2K12.

Thanks for the warning. Just to let you know that AVG 2013 Business Edition will be supported Server 2012, AVG 2012 currently isn't. 2013 will be out fairly soon all being well. Beta version is currently available for testing - http://www.avg.com/gb-en/beta-program

Unfortunately we do not have an exact date, it depends on how well beta testing goes. All being well, Business version will be available earlyish in the New Year.

Can we get an update on how the testing is coming? I don't want to have to look at other options. I'd prefer to stay with AVG.

AVG 2013 Business version is now available:

http://www.avg.com/gb-en/download.prd-ise

AVG 2013 Admin will manage AVG 2012\2013 installations. To upgrade either the Admin or workstation\Server version just run the latest installation file and the older version will be removed.

Please be aware the upgrade requires a restart of the machines.
