Please find a tool attached that can either be run locally or via login script to reactivate the AVG licence. Edit the '.bat' file and enter your AVG licence after the = sign:
The password for the attached file is your login address. Keep the .bat and .exe file in the same folder and run the bat file to update the licence number.
The remote administration server address is not stored in the registry. Some possible workarounds for this:
1 - On any machine delete the following 2 files:
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVG2012\cfg\
Vista\7 - C:\Program Data\AVG2012\cfg\
- Delete the ‘admin.cfg’ and the ‘krnl.cfg’ files
- Open AVG (Remote Admin settings are no longer greyed out) > Enter the right credentials and save the changes
- Copy the saved admin and krnl cfg files across to all the machines via login script
- Use some DNS trickery to map the old admin name or IP that is currently in AVG to the new admin name\IP. Eg: add line to hosts file mapping new IP address to the old Server Name.
Rename an existing machine on the network to the old Admin Server machine’s name and install an Admin Console on this machine > Change the ‘Shared Settings > Remote Administration’ to the correct location > Synch the settings.
