Hi, I have been getting the message "Connection to the update server has failed" coming up since Friday when trying to update. It gets to around 39% before the message comes up each time. I use AVG 2013 Free edition and the updates have worked ok up until now for this version, although I should note that I have had this exact problem before with AVG 2012. Have included your required compressed avgupd.log files here but there are no avgupdm.log files on my comp.
I use the following:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. Service pack 1
Windows firewall which is already set to allow AVG to run. I tried turning it off just in case before updating but that didn't work either.
16mb broadband via True Internet (Thailand)
Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated :smile:
Any other ideas about this problem? My internet connection seems fine but AVG update still stalls at 39% every time. When this happened with the 2012 version I ended up switching to another antivirus program out of desperation but I prefer the speed of AVG to rival companies and would prefer to keep it if possible. Really need a fix to this issue soon though as it's useless if I can't ever update.
This is happening to me today as well. I had AVG Free 2012 so I thought maybe I should upgrade to Free 2013. Having the same problem updating the database with 2013, so that must not have been the problem...will attempt to provide the MSinfo output and Wireshark log...
