I am using VMware workstation 8 and I have a Windows 7 virtual machine running. The network interface is bridge to my physical machine nic where AVG Internet Security 2013 is installed. Vmware Workstation is under the Application list in AVG firewall and is set to allow. The VM can ping out to my local network and other server on the internet, ie "ping www.google.com" but Internet Explorer cannot resolve any web pages. If I disable the AVG firewall the VM can open web pages no problem.

Attached is a screenshot of the AVG Firewall log which is obvious blocking this traffic from the VM (IP address 192.168.0.16). The Application is a "FilterDevice" which I understand is referenced if AVG cannot link the traffic to a windows system process. How do I allow this?

Thanks in advance,

Luke

Hello lpruen,

For help on your issue please try tick "Allow any traffic from/to virtual machines supported by Firewall" in advanced Firewall settings.

Thank you
