Have used AVG free for several years and been very pleased with it- but this latest occurrence has me wondering about the quality of your company = maybe it was not doing anything all those years!!!
When I saw that PC Tuneup could be used one time for free, I tried it. Since then, it keeps placing a SALES pop-up onto my screen (without even a "close" button) all the time. This is not the action of a trustworthy company. Please tell me how to get rid of this pop-up, and stop installing it for other people.
Incidentally, trying to find your service people to get a fix for this is also VERY frustrating. I have seen some of the replies that are given to comments here, and they are simply not useful. Does anyone vet what kind of service you are giving??
 I am having the same exact problem. Can't someone help us get the AVG PC Tuneup popup OFF the computer? It pops up everytime I turn on the computer. I deleted AVG 2013 in Add/Remove Programs. It went away, but AVG PC Tuneup will not let you delete it from there. It brings me to a page that keeps asking me to update and buy it, but no way of getting rid of the sales ad. I even tried deleting in Safe Mode and with Reimage Repair, which is supposed to get everything you don't want off your computer, but this PC Tuneup will not budge. It is driving me crazy! Someone please send me a link to remove this, if possible! Thanks.
I am also really jacked off about this continuous pop to buy PC Tune up, Please, Please tell me someone how to delete AVG's blog "PC TUNE UP". Otherwise happy with AVG protection but whoever designed this annoying sales spiel should be fired..
I find it comical that people would be so openly rude to those whom they are asking for help. You have started a trend in this thread which is quite disappointing, and you admittedly don't even pay for their services. You should be grateful they have anyone here to reply to your discourteous rant.
That being said, it surprises me that Microsoft is allowing the download of the Microsoft Cleanup Utility again. It was originally designed to clean bad installations of Microsoft Office from your computer but people were using to wipe things off of their systems without fully understanding what they were doing and it caused problems. Be careful using this utility.
There is a lot of garbage out there with "PC Tune-UP" in the name. AVG has unfortunately chosen this name for their product and I think it is the source of a lot of confusion. My corporate computers are afflicted with drive by installations of similar software, with similar names and I have to treat them and their removal as malware. They don't make removal easy.
I have personally installed the AVG PC TuneUP on my PC to check it out and removal of the software was as easy as clicking the uninstall program link in my control panel. Done. If you continue to have popups after that, I seriously doubt it is an AVG product on your PC and you should have someone look at your computer who is a little more familiar with getting rid of pests.
If you like the AVG AV, buy it and enjoy all the benefits that come with a subscription. If you don't, use something else. But quit whining and DO something.
