I had AVG Free 9 running fine until I got an error today saying: Update Failed. A .bin file is missing.
I went ahead and just upgraded to AVG Free 2012 and installation went fine, but when i try to update the anti-virus i get the same message "Update Failed. A .bin file is missing."
I dont have any firewall installed. ADSL Internet connection is working fine.

OS: Windows 7
AVG Version: 2012.0.1913
Virus database version: 2114/4255
Just upgraded from AVG 9 Free to AVG 2012 Free
No other protection software installed
Error Message: Update Failed. A .bin file is missing.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sunny.

Hello SunnyTheGuy79123oooo,

Since you just upgraded from AVG 9, please try to follow all steps described in full reinstallation instructions.

If the issue persists, provide us with fresh update log files and with MSinfo output.

Thank you

Same problem still persists..

Ran the full uninstaller, deleted the folders after restart.
Reinstalled AVG 2012 and after installation is complete and updates begin, the same error is displayed.

Note: avgupdm.log does not exist in the log folder. All hidden files shown, protected OS files shown.

Please find the log file & msinfo attached.

- Open the AVG program.
- On the Tools menu select Advanced Settings.
- Navigate to the Manage option in the Update branch.
