I have been unable to update for almost a month. I have searched thru these posts without any luck. I tried to save the System Information but it got stuck and read "Windows Error Reporting" when it was saving. I have attached the other docs that you need in order to help me.

Thank you in advance.

Hello mollywolfman,

Please run command line first and then run chkdsk from the already running command line.
That will allow you to see any error messages or input requests from the chkdsk tool.

Also perform requested memory check and inform us about the results.

Performing full reinstallation may resolve the issue temporarily as well.

Thank you

I did what you asked above and receive the following message:

"Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode"

additionally, I tried to run a full re-installation and it failed. It would not install.

any other suggestions? Do I have a virus on my pc preventing me from doing these things????

By the way- I am the admin on the computer

Hello mollywolfman,

It is necessary to run the command line with elevated access rights as described in How To Run The Command Line.

Please provide us with both GMER outputs as well.

To allow us analyze the installation error, provide us with installation log files.

Please note that we still need hard drive and memory check results.

Thank you

I ran the Hard drive check and it went to my L drive (which is my second interior hard drive) for some reason when the computer restarted. I did ghost my c drive to my l drive. I am wondering if this has had something to do with all the issues I am experiencing. In any case, the hard drive check did not produce a winit 1001 file. It did have six Windows Erroro Reporting 1001 "files". any ideas as to what I should do next?

Thanks,

Hello mollywolfman,

Please perform hard drive test on both drives.
You can run check disk on specific drive as follows:
chkdsk C: /F
This command will run or schedule a disk check on C: drive.

To provide us with the results of hard drive check, open mentioned wininit 1001 event, copy the text it contains and paste it in your next forum post.

We still need requested memory check results as well.

Please also try to follow all steps in full reinstallation instructions and provide us with installation log files if the installation fails.

Also provide us with both GMER outputs.

Thank you

chkdsk..

if you notice above, it checked the L drive, not the c drive. When I first pull up cmd, the first line reads, "L:\Windows\system32>"

I then type in "c:" and C:\>" pops up

Then I type in chkdsk C: /f and the following popps up:

"The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Chkdsk may run if this volume is dismounted first.
ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID.
Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N)"

What should I do?????
