I'm currently compiling information to report a missed detection by the AVG Surf Shield but I had a question about its function.

I've created a test case which I can use to demonstrate the missed detection. This test case is a HTML page I created. If I load the HTML page DIRECTLY into my browser, using the "File/Open" function to open the file, will the surf shield look at the HTML the browser is rendering or does the surf shield activate ONLY when a web page is being served from a web server over the Internet?

I'm not talking about search results and the search shield, but the Surf Shield. I would image if I went to www. this is a bad site .com surf shield would warn me if the page being loaded had malicious content in it.

Thanks!

Peace...
