I'm using AVG version 10.0.1416 virus db 2109/4149 on a PC running XP home 2002 service pack 3.
Just recently a program called roc_roc_dec12.exe has been trying to access the internet (ZoneAlarm reports access calls).
There are 2 files containing "roc_roc" in the file name in C:\Program Files\AVG Secure Search, one is the exe mentioned above, the other roc.exe 907KB in size, time stamped 19.01.12 08.17. Both have the AVG web icon.
I've run some searched but the only hit refers to a site called "Wakoopa" (That I don't use) and tells me that roc_roc is effectively some form of spyware.
Would not have thought that AVG would be linked to this.
This isn't another question, but relevant information.
Iolo System Mechanic reports this file, which also appears in my paid AVG anti virus, as "a process associated with malicious software." I checked the signature on the file, and it is legit, so I will not be removing it.
You guys might want to coordinate with Iolo about this file, to try to eliminate such false alarms.
