A few days ago, when clicking on "update" on the AVG user interface I received an update of 41.7MB.

In spite of downloading and successfully installing the update, I receive the same update file every time I click for fresh updates.

Please advise what to do in this case.

Thanks.

Hello singhalong,

Please provide us with all AVG logs and Msinfo output for further analysis.

To make sure that the issue is not hardware related, also please run memory test, hard drive check and send us the results.

Thank you.

Hello singhalong,

Can you please tell us the password you have used for protecting the files (log.rar and msinfo.rar)?

I have tried to use your E-mail address you have used for forum registration with no success.

The files are stored on our ftp server so there is no possibility that they will be accessed by unauthorized person, therefore password protection of the archives is not required.

Thank you.

Hello singhalong,

According to provided output your situation is most likely not caused by AVG.

11-Jan-12 5:52 AM Dhcp The IP address lease 192.168.1.2 for the Network Card with network address 6*F has been
denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

It is some issue in your network may be some one is using same network address (MAC) address as you.

Thank you

Could you please elaborate about Network Address and MAC?

Also, what steps can I take in the circumstances?

Thanks.

Hello singhalong,

We suggest contacting your ISP or network administrator in order to resolve the issue.

Please note that changing physical address (MAC address) is possible, but not advised.

Also please provide us with little more information about your network for further analysis.

Thank you

Thanks.
Please let me know what network information you require and how I may access/gather the info for you from my computer, since I am not technically trained.

Hello singhalong,

The best way to solve this issue, will be contacting your ISP first, because this issue is definitely not related to AVG but there is some issue related with your network.

Thank you.
