I'm trying to install avg_free_x86_all_2012_1901a4695. But i have a issue:

" Severity: Error
Error code: 0xC0070643
Error message: MSI Engine: Failed to install the product
Context: AVG product installation "

I have try turning Firewall off but error still happend. Please help me! I hope to receive your support soon!

My previous avg lost its antivirus and only LinkScanner remained. I tried several attempts to repair but to no avail. I downloaded the latest 2012 yesterday and also the removal tool as the uninstall indicated an error as well. On installation of the new download it failed and I created a log file. This morning I tried again this time on start up and having closed PC Tools Spyware Doctor with same result. I have the new log saved and can upload it to the forum. Please advise what to do. I am of course the administrator and only user of this computer since several years. Win XP.

Hello richardkemp,

For help on your issue please try install AVG in advanced mode and untick AVG toolbar installation.

If it doesn't solve your issue please provide us with Msinfo output and GMER scan results.

Thank you for responding. I will try this when I have some more time. To get virus cover for today I decided to install MS Essentials and there were no problems with that. I will try again but I have never had this problem in all the years I have been using AVG so I look forward to a trouble free version again!

Same Issue (MSI Engine: Failed to install...)..

Hi,

Since a recent update, i have the same issue, on various computer systems.

I really like avg free for deployments, easy and simple. Multilanguage.

I've included the log file for analysis.

Please note your site redirects to download.com for the file.

Do you have a link on your website to download the free avg version ?
Do you have a link to the previous version that was working fine ?

@Sirtar and SpamCop,
StandardAction(0xC0070532): A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MFAData\pack\COREx.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt. Error 266 was returned by WinVerifyTrust.

Please try to download AVG again, file may have become corrupted during download previously.

If the issue persists it may also indicate hardware failure. Please provide us with results of Hard Drive Check and Memory Test.

StandardAction(0xC00706B7): The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

Are you having issues also with installing other applications using MSI installer? Also please make sure whether there is no update running in background. You may try to install AVG in Safe Mode.

If it doesn't help on your situation please provide us with new Msinfo output and Installation log files.
