My problem is similar to another post I found here by simplicity but my error message is different and I can tell you when the problem happened - it was while updating the virus database last night, I had the AVG program opened and it kept flashing and changing from not protected to protected, I then had to reboot the computer and the avg icon was missing from my system tray and I couldn't open it at all from the file. am attatching a file with print screen of my error message. I tried to repair thru the avg setup but got an error message. I can tell you though that my computer tells me that my virus software is updated and active. Also cannot use my google browser because the error message pops up constantly but can use Firefox without any problems.

Couldn't send file...exceeded 2mb, mine was 3 so here is the error message typed out:

avgmfapx.exe - Bad Image

The application or DLL C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2012\avgcfgx.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

Hi bdeane419,

Please pack the output in an archive (zip file) and provide us with it. Please upload it to the AVG FTP server, see how to provide us with files.

To fix the problem please try this:
- download full installation package (either Item 2-32bit or Item 3-64bit whichever suits your operating system).
- run it, and select 'repair' install. follow the instructions

I meant your 'Couldn't send file...exceeded 2mb..' as output.

Hello bdeane419,

By "output file", will_h meant file that you attempted to attach to your original post.

Please try to perform all steps described in AVG 2012 (incl. Previous Versions) Uninstall / Re-Install Instructions.

If the issue persists afterwards, provide us with all AVG log files and MSinfo output.

Thank you

I have uploaded file bdeane419630.7z. Also tried the repair as suggested got error message which I sent copy of in above file, my computer shows my virus software active and up to date but I have no way of telling if it's actually updating or scanning when scheduled. I cannot bring the program up at all.

Thank you

Hi bdeane419,

If the attached avgcfgx.zip is correct, then your AVG installation is corrupted. Please run Harddrive check and then please follow carefully the uninstall / reinstall instructions here. Download full (offline) installation package, and AVG remover. If you're not sure about 32 or 64 bit on your system have a look @ this link http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=140471#post_140471.

If the issue persist provide us with fresh Install log files.

Thank you
