Hello Titho here -
This has only appeared in the last 24 hours and says... "has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. - Also, now tells me that I have no AVG Anti Virus protection and when I go to undates there is no undate happening. Also tells me that last undate was Dec. 14 at 1.27am.
Tried going to uninstall and would not allow this to be done.
avgmfapx.exe is the message given - similar to Post by felicity recently

Hi titho,

Please provide us with:
1) all AVG logfiles
2) dump files from this folder:
WinXP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVG2012\Dumps
Win Vista/7:
C:\ProgramData\AVG2012\Dumps

Please pack the output in an archive (zip file) and provide us with it.

Thank you

Solved..

Don't know the cause of the problem, but I solved it. Avg free 2012 version.

1. Used avgremover to remove AVG2012. The avgmfapx.exe doesn't allow normal uninstall, it always pops up and prevents uninstall/repair.

2. Because I can't update the old AVG2012, but other sites worked well, I suspected that some malware blocked the update. So I used winsock repair utility.

3. Restart

4. Installed AVG2012 with offline installer.

5. Succesfully installed + updated

6. Scanned the whole system with newly installed AVG2012 free, but didn't found anything, which is surprising, because I'm sure it was some kind of a threat.
