Hi.
I discovered a couple of new processes running in my task manager and wanted to know if they were a part of an AVG update. If so, are they something that is really necessary for my system because my computer is so slow, I try to keep it as slimmed down as possible.
The new items showing are Vprot.exe and ScriptHelper.exe.
Thank you!

Hello kykitty24,

Vprot.exe and ScriptHelper.exe are services used by AVG Secure Search.

You can provide us with Msinfo output for analysis of the slowdown issue.

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to ask here on forums.

Thank you

Still looking for help on this problem. It is persistent. Was running at 47% of cpu until I cancelled it a few minutes ago. Can I email the msinfo report to someone to review.

Hello cburch3,

Please refer to following article and compress Msinfo output:
How To Compress (Pack) A File.

Until this situation will be solved I recommend you temporary remove AVG Toolbar through Add / Remove components.

Thank you
