I cannot see that this has been covered elsewhere - apologies if I am wrong.
Using AVG LinkScanner 9.0.865 and Firefox 5.0
I have tried updates etc, but still get the message "Search Shield - one or more plug-ins inactive".
Has this been resolved yet?
Many thanks in advance

Many thanks for your reply.
Do you happen to know when AVG will be updated to "plug-in" with Firefox 5?
From my position of ignorance, wouldn't it be a good idea for AVG to work closely with Mozilla since they are a major player in the web browser field?

Just to make sure that you are fully aware this forum is only manned by other AVG Free users... (and when available AVG employees)... we don't work for AVG Technologies. Some moderators of this forum are volunteers and contribute their time freely. If you see the AVG logo avatar that signifies that the person works for AVG Technologies. The forum is monitored by the AVG Team so your questions / comments will probably be noted & they may post but unfortunately there is no direct contact for users.... i.e. AVG Technologies don't provide direct tech support for AVG Free. However this is available with the Pro either Trial or Paid for version.
Hopefully a member of the AVG Team based @ Brno in the Czech Rep will see your post & reply but please bear in mind it's now Tuesday evening there (Czech Rep time 20:33) so it'll probably be Wednesday morning.

Thanks again.
I do realize that this is all down to volunteers - I just wondered if you get any "inside" information.
I appreciate your help and will see what AVG can come up with.
Perhaps surprising that they have not patched this one yet.

You'll note that case #kw 70645 has been raised with the AVG development. I would imagine that when there's a situ change this thread will be auto updated. However have you tried updating to the latest 1st Aug 2011 Version 9.0.866?.... Full install file http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download.prd-smf. The latest Windows version actually Implements support for Mozilla Firefox 6.
