Sorry but I don't understand the link, I downloaded the AVG 9 from the site as not a beta nor a trial but as full new free version (exactly from here):
http://free.avg.com/it-it/download?prd=afg

If you mean the usage of avgchsvx.exe only for short time I'll inform you that in this moment the service runs with 1,40 GB onto my PC, I think it is not so normal, please check this second image:

The link was from the AVG Team - Manager with info about AVG 9 before it was released as a Free product. It would also now apply to the Free version i.e....
The AVGCHSVX service is running in the background for the first few hours (depending on how many files you have on your system) to fill the cache. It is running with low priority so it should not slow down your other apps. And after the cache is fully populated, the process will automatically minimize its CPU usage.

I might also point out that you hadn't included the information that is needed for proper suggestions or information... generic questions without information can be only answered generically... we can't help find other possible reasons or causes.

Please provide us more information about your system so that we may have it to base our suggestions on, see What information should I include?

Plan A is always more effective when the device you are working on
understands that Plan B involves either a large hammer or screwdriver....

The link is quite definitely working on my system!

Info Needed for All Problems....

Other antivirus software installed / previously uninstalled (if any) ????
Other protection software installed ????

The type of protection software we mean are utils such as antispyware, process monitor, parental control etc... these all can affect a programs installation by blocking changes to the Windows system.

The link redirects me here: http://forums.avg.com/it-it/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=929 and it doesn't work.

The AVG is the only antivirus / anti spyware installed onto my system (is a fresh installation of Windows XP, I had reformat the PC, the previous installation ran AVG 8.5).

I'm not going to second guess at what is happening on your system when you go to the link provided because it works fine for my system... so instead I'll point you at it using a different method but you will have to follow it manually...

Free forum » Main topics » AVG 9.0 Free Edition » Before You Post Here, Read This!.

This is the link which should appear http://forums.avg.com/gb-en/avg-free-forum?sec=thread&act=show&id=23793.

Hope that helps for now

I read the topic. The only other information I can provide is that I've installed Office 2003, SnagIT, PhotoFiltre. That's all. Again: it is a fresh copy of windows, just installed, immediately after the installation of SP3 I added AVG 9 then others soft.
