First some things to remember...

Standard and limited user accounts normally do not have the proper rights to make changes to Windows so always log into a Windows with a user account that has full administrator rights when installing any software including AVG.

Most antispyware, parental control and process monitor types of protection software can block the required changes when installing any program, so make certain to disable them when installing or uninstalling anything.

How to uninstall AVG 7.x:
- Download this AVG utilty and run it to remove the registy settings ( if running Vista or Windows 7: remember to right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator"):
http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/support/delavg7_en.exe

Then restart and remove all of the AVG related files from computer:
C:\Program Files\Grisoft
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\AVG

- for Windows XP/2000:
C:\Documents and settings\All users\Application data\Grisoft
C:\Documents and settings\All users\Application data\AVG7
C:\Documents and settings\<user>\Application data\AVG7

- for Windows Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Grisoft or AVG7
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\AVG7

Stop here if not re-installing.

If you are re-installing, please remember that AVG Technologies is no longer supporting it since AVG 7.5 discontinued and there are no updates available for it which means you will be at a greater risk at being infected by newer threats that came after AVG 7.5 was released. We strongly recommend updating to AVG 8.5.xxx to be protected against new threats as well as spyware threats.

If you are still going to re-install AVG 7.5...

Download & save the last AVG 7.5.xxx Free installation package available from http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/4029/. RHS Old version 7.5.524. Large green arrow! Download This Version 36.56MB. ( this website is a third party website and not related to AVG Technologies ) ( if running Vista: remember to right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator"):

If updating to AVG 9.0.xxx ( Strongly recommended )

- Then download the latest installation file from this webpage and run it: ( if running Vista: remember to right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator"):

Update AVG when completed, restart your computer and then re-enable any protection software you disabled earlier.
